How do you repel biting flies the natural way? Use Extra Virgin Olive Oil!
One day I was watching Benny Hinn and he commented that they use olive oil in Israel to keep the bugs off the sheep. What a God-send!
No Chemicals
Being health conscious, I don’t like to use any un-necessary chemicals or medications on my animals. To hear I could use something non-toxic and actually good for you was absolutely the best news in ages!
I have found it to be tried-and-true, and the only side effect to olive oil is that your dog is a little oily around the edges. That, and if your dog is like mine, you’ll have a heck of a time fending them off the bottle… and your hands!
Be sure to do the ears because flies find them especially tasty!
Other Ways to Repel Biting Flies
Keep the yard and patio clean and free of pet waste and garbage. Not only are biting flies drawn to odor, cleaning up will remove their breeding ground as well.
Avoid leaving your dog out during peak hours. Biting flies tend to come out in strong sunshine. Consider providing heavy shade and a good dog house if your dog must remain outside.
Increase air movement. If possible, turn on a fan. As with mosquitoes, biting flies tend to hang in stagnant areas.
